2012 Street Improvement List

Below is a listing of this year’s improvement project with a brief description of the proposed improvements. The improvements can be discussed in more detail at the Improvement Hearing which is scheduled for 7:02 p.m., March 05, 2012, at the Willmar Municipal Utilities building.

Reconstruction (0.83 miles)
Oak Lane NW – 7th Street NW to the east Year Built: 1958
Reconstruction: Remove bituminous, remove & replace curb and gutter as needed, replace water main, replace sanitary sewer, reconnect service lines, grading, gravel base, remove & replace sidewalk as needed, remove & replace concrete driveways as needed, turf establishment and bituminous paving.

Russell Street NW – Ella Ave NW to Olaf Ave NW Year Built: 1957
Reconstruction: Remove bituminous, replace water main, replace sanitary sewer, reconnect service lines, storm sewer improvements, remove & replace curb and gutter, remove & replace sidewalk as needed, update curb ramps to include truncated domes, remove & replace concrete driveways as needed, grading, gravel base, turf establishment, and bituminous paving.

14th Street SW – Grace Avenue SW to Willmar Avenue SW Year Built: 1963
Reconstruction: Remove bituminous, replace water main, replace sanitary sewer, reconnect service lines, storm sewer improvements, remove & replace curb and gutter as needed, remove & replace sidewalk as needed, remove & replace concrete driveways as needed, grading, gravel base, turf establishment, and bituminous paving.

Bernard St SE – Becker Ave SE to Litchfield Ave SE Year Built: 1937
Reconstruction: Remove bituminous, replace water main, replace sanitary sewer, reconnect service lines, remove & replace curb and gutter, remove & replace sidewalk as needed, remove & replace concrete driveways as needed, grading, gravel base, turf establishment, and bituminous paving.

Elizabeth Avenue SE – Robert Street SE to 14th Street SE Year Built: 1986
Reconstruction: Remove bituminous, replace water main, replace sanitary sewer, reconnect service lines, remove & replace curb and gutter as needed, remove & replace sidewalk as needed, remove & replace concrete driveways as needed, grading, gravel base, turf establishment and bituminous paving.

Roise Ave SW – 1st St S to 4th St SW Year Built: 1987
Reconstruction: Remove bituminous, remove & replace curb and gutter as needed, remove & replace sidewalk as needed, remove & replace concrete driveways as needed, grading, gravel base, turf establishment and bituminous/concrete paving.

Overlay (0.84 miles)
5th Street SW – Willmar Avenue SW to Kandiyohi Avenue SW Year Reconstructed: 1993
Mill and Overlay: Mill bituminous 1 ½”, correct damaged areas, pave 1 ½” of bituminous, remove & replace sidewalk as needed, update curb ramps to include truncated domes, replace concrete driveways as needed.

9th Street SW – Willmar Avenue SW to 19th Avenue SW Year Built: 1963, 1967
Mill and Overlay: Mill bituminous 1 ½”, add catch basin, remove & replace curb and gutter as needed, pave 1 ½” of bituminous, remove & replace sidewalk as needed, update curb ramps to include truncated domes, replace concrete driveways as needed.

New Construction
Willmar Avenue SW – Industrial Drive SW (TH 40) to 22nd Street SW
New Construction: Remove bituminous off existing Industrial Dr. from 200' east of Co Rd 5 to old Willmar Ave intersection. New alignment, common excavation, storm sewer, gravel base, curb and gutter, RR quiet zone crossing, bituminous paving, and 8’ bituminous path (22nd St to Co Rd 5).
